Public Swimming Pools Inspections
Wayne County inspects licensed pubic swimming pools for safety and water quality. Public swimming pools include those that are utilized within parks, schools, motels, camps, resorts, apartments, clubs, hotels, mobile home parks and subdivisions. Public Bathing Beaches Monitoring
Public beaches are monitored for bacteria levels at least weekly and results are given to the municipalities in which the beaches are located. Adult and Child Care Inspections
Adult and Child Care Facilities are licensed by the Michigan Department of Human Services. Environmental inspections are conducted by the Wayne County Department of Public Health. For information on Adult and Child Care Facilities, please visit http://www.michigan.gov/dhs/
Drinking Water Protection
The Drinking Water Protection Program conducts the following:
Performs site evaluations for new well construction.
Issues well permits for home use as well as irrigation wells.
Inspects wells to make sure they are properly abandoned or when home has been connected to municipal water system.
Monitors any Type II wells in Wayne County.
