The Aerotropolis
The Aerotropolis is an exciting new concept embraced by Wayne and Washtenaw Counties, the local communities, and leading business executives in Michigan. The Detroit region has the elements to become a world-class aerotropolis — two major airport facilities, over 25,000 acres of developable land, and supportive community leadership. In addition, Southeast Michigan has an advantageous geographical location with ready access to a majority of the North American consumer markets, a shorter flight distance to international markets, and a developed infrastructure connecting the transportation ports. All modes of transportation (air, sea, rail and highway) can be accessed within a one-mile radius, making it an ideal location for a global logistics hub.
