Wayne County was named as a recipient of $25.9 million in Neighborhood Stabilization Program(NSP) funds as part of the Housing and Economic Redevelopment Act (HERA). About $3.92 billion was allocated nationwide to address abandoned and foreclosed properties.
Among the programs administered through the Community Development Division are federal Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funding, Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) grants, and Weatherization funds. The County has also developed the Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention Program (MFPP) to help families stay in their homes during difficult economic times. Together, these programs reflect Wayne County’s holistic approach to neighborhood development; an approach that encourages safety, stability, and sustainability within our neighborhoods.
