Welcome to the Wayne County Discount Prescription Card!
FREE Discount Drug Card Program
A new discount drug card program called the Wayne County Discount Prescription Card is now available to all Wayne County residents. The program, which provides a free discount prescription card, will provide savings of up to 75% on prescription drugs with average savings of around 30%. There are no restrictions to membership, no income restrictions, no age limit and no applications to fill out. The Wayne County Discount Prescription Card is accepted at over 50,000 national and regional pharmacies around the country, and has an “open” formulary which means all medications are included. Participating pharmacies include many chain stores including Kroger Pharmacy, Kmart Pharmacy, Sav-on Drugs, CVS/pharmacy, Walgreens, and Rite Aid, among others, as well as thousands of independent pharmacies.
The Wayne County Discount Prescription Card Program was launched to help the uninsured and underinsured citizens of Wayne County afford their prescription medications. However, the program can also be used by people who have health insurance coverage with no prescription benefits, which is common in many health savings accounts and high deductible health plans. Additionally, people who have prescription coverage can use this program for non-formulary or non-covered drugs, as can individuals who do not qualify for publicly funded programs such as Medicaid and Medicare. The Wayne County Discount Prescription Card Program even covers some pet medications that are available at participating pharmacies.
