Wayne County’s Department of Public Services has scheduled its next countywide Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection for Saturday, August 27 at Southland Shopping Center (parking lot) located at 23000 Eureka Road, Taylor.

The Wayne County Commission, today, approved a proposal for a $300-million bond for a new Wayne County jail. The proposal was presented to the commission at an October 20 meeting.
Judge Peter Deegan ruled yesterday that Wayne County must give its judges more than $500 million to shore up their massive deficit and move to a new site that is “equal to [the judges’] noble purpose," an amount equal to the county’s entire general fund.
